WHO AM I?I am a RIBA Part II Graduate from Manchester School of Architecture, looking for a Part II Architectural Placement for the year 2017-18. I hold a first class Master's degree and came top of my year.
I have paid work experience in London, repeat vacation placements and regular freelance work from a Middle East practice. I was involved in the facade and external works of a strip mall, interior design of a villa, a kiosk design and a restaurant renovation. I have worked on collaborative and individual projects, both theoretical and built. The kind of employee I aspire to be has an insatiable curiosity, turns up on time, delivers on his/her promises, is calm and organised, can read input documents from beginning to end, comprehends the subject in its context, can see the wood as well as paying attention to the trees, can understand where other people are coming from, can put all these problems and requirements into clear and succinct documents and presentations. That is what I aspire to and I will work day by day to be that. In time, I hope to be capable of building strong shared visions. As to my postgraduate interests, I am interested in complexity theory for cities, planning and design of future cities, scenarios and simulations for urban sustainability, all technological and digital support capabilities, computation in general, generative modelling, algorithmic modelling, adaptive & evolutionary architecture, data-driven thinking, carbon negative architecture. My motivation comes from truly understanding the client brief, from building up and delivering the most successful and creative designs through collaborations. So I see myself as a team player. I am responsible for my own future, but I hope that my future employer will recognise and help me - project by successful project - to build that potential into a great career. I have lived half my life in France, half in England, I have been educated in both countries and speak both languages as a native. Through contacts and an exchange program in Hamburg, I speak a little German. I also have lived and worked for short periods in the Middle East and South East Asia. |
